Winter life at an F&I Fort - Participants at this event will stay in-side the heated buildings of Fort Bon Secours - however all daytime activities will take place out-of-doors and requires that the participant be able to withstand the rigors of the cold Wisconsin winter. Bring your own bedding and winter gear, and "good" footwear, and walk the Snowshoe Trails of Fort Bon Secours.

Instruction in 1755 Drill, Marching, Battalion Movements, Saluting, Drum Calls, Officers Manual of Arms Drill, Handling the Flag. French and Native American reenactors of the French and Indian War period are welcome to attend. The Massiac Marines will again provide five meals, (three Saturday and two Sunday) for a $10.00 fee. When you register, please be sure to let us know or leave a message that you want the meals included.
For anyone who does not wish to camp; there is a Days Inn (618-524-9341) motel directly across the street from the camp. At Exit 37 there are three motels, Comfort Inn (618-524-7227); Super 8 (618-524-8624) and Best Western (618-524-3723). Paducah, KY is just across the river from Metropolis and has a wide selection of motels and restaurants within 15 minutes of the Fort.

The Massiac Marines host a French and Indian War reenactment (Assemblee des Forces Sur la Bella Riviere) on Memorial Day Weekend. All Forces of Montcalm members and French Indian War Reenactors, French, British or Spanish Military, Artillery, Militia, rangers, Civilians, Camp Followers, Voyagers, Coureurs de bois, and Native American Allies of both French and British are invited to participate. The event is open to the public. Activities include morning and evening colours, mock battle, military drill and maneuvers, voyager landing on the Ohio River, bread oven baking, canon demonstration, and bayonet contest. Step back in time and enjoy campsites, battlefields, tactical areas and areas free from modern day intrusions and plenty of on-site amenities including straw, hay for horses, firewood, and restroom facilities. On-site breastworks structure available for battlefield use. Only twenty miles from Columbus, OH with easy access right off I-70. NO registration fees!
Juried event - must be pre-registered. You may arrive on Friday May 17th, if you wish. Provided are straw, firewood, water, port-a-johns, and a shower. A catered meal on Saturday evening, a 1/2 lb. powder allowance per man under arms, and contests of Tomahawk throwing, fire-starting with flint and steel, bayonet, a ladies skillet-toss, and a ladies high tea are included, with period prizes for the winners. Each participant will be in charge of his (her) own rolled cartridges.

F&I Military Event - non-battle. This is a calling-up of the Militia of the region. Participants at this event will be engaged in an event that is centered on the "calling-up of the Militia" of the region to go east to fight the "Anglais-Cochon-Chien". This event takes place at a western frontier fort with the men of the region "preparing" to go to war. All family members are welcomed to come to see them off - appropriate activities for the "rest of the family" will be provided. Because this event takes place over the 4th of July weekend, a longer camping stay is provided - come early and stay late and avoid the holiday traffic.

The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana. Each year there are more than 8,000 participants.

Patrick Sinclair on the confluence of the Pine and St. Clair Rivers in what is the present city of St. Clair (St. Clair County), and was in use until 1785.

This two-day event offers foods, crafts, military drills, music and more from roughly 1750-1850. During the Encampment, military re-enactors will represent French, British and American troops, all of whom occupied Fort Massac at various times from 1757 through 1814. Daily battle demonstrations illustrate battle maneuvers and equipment familiar to soldiers of the time.

The most authentic living history event in the state. Alabama Frontier Days is a wonderful opportunity to see the unique culture of the south as it was transformed from Creek Indian lands to pioneer settler forts and homesteads during the period of 1700 to 1820. French Fort Toulouse will be occupied by a full force of authentically dressed French Colonial Marines, and a War of 1812 camp will be set up next to Fort Jackson. Various demonstrations and period entertainment are also scheduled.
