Rocky Mountain College Rendezvous is a teaching rendezvous.  Everyone is welcome and all levels of participants old and new alike are encouraged to attend.  We have classes for all levels to take and enjoy to learn new and enhance the skills needed for the time period.  All classes are subject to change depending on the instructors available but have included some of the following subjects:  Flintlock 101, Knots and Lashings, Loom-less Beading, Pipe Making, Leather Working, Tortilla Making, Sewing the Old Way, Dutch Oven Baking, Spindle Spinning and many more!  Other camp activities have included:  Story Telling Contests, Cooking Contest, Frying Pan Toss, Best Dressed Contest, Kids Games, Ladies Games, Naming Ceremony and others.  We have both primitive and modern camps, long and short term in the area which is held in the Pike National Forest, the altitude is approx. 9600 to 9800 feet depending on the site location give by the US Forest Service.  All participants are encouraged to go slow and drink plenty of water.  We are always looking for volunteers to help at camp and try to spread it so no one has to spend their time at camp working.  Please contact us if you have an interest and come and enjoy the Colorado Rocky Mountains during a Pre 1840 Rendezvous.

Instruction in 1755 Drill, Marching, Battalion Movements, Saluting, Drum Calls, Officers Manual of Arms Drill, Handling the Flag. French and Native American reenactors of the French and Indian War period are welcome to attend. The Massiac Marines will again provide five meals, (three Saturday and two Sunday) for a $10.00 fee. When you register, please be sure to let us know or leave a message that you want the meals included.
For anyone who does not wish to camp; there is a Days Inn (618-524-9341) motel directly across the street from the camp. At Exit 37 there are three motels, Comfort Inn (618-524-7227); Super 8 (618-524-8624) and Best Western (618-524-3723). Paducah, KY is just across the river from Metropolis and has a wide selection of motels and restaurants within 15 minutes of the Fort.

Theme on the 1757 Siege of Fort William Henry. Almost 200 participants -- people with a deep interest in 18th-century military history --join us each year for this two-day college-level seminar. The War College focuses on the military history of North America in the Seven Years' War (1754-1760). Leading authorities on the period present their latest findings in a series of lectures and demonstrations. The War College provides participants with an opportunity to listen to and interact with the presenters in a relaxed atmosphere. Participation is limited and is by pre-registration only.
