Invitation: We wish to invite 18th century traders, venders and demonstrators to come and join us at our colonial market fair. The site is located in a large state park on a beautiful lake. There are restrooms and showers in the park for your use. Set up can begin on Thursday, March 18. Firewood and water will be provided and a pot luck Saturday evening. No trade fees will be charged this year. Contests are planned for both living history people and the visiting public. The nearby town of Winder has anything you may have need of and a map will be provided.

The largest, nationally recognized, juried show in the Midwest devoted to pre-1890 original or reproduction living history supplies, accouterments and related crafts. More than 10,000 historical re-enactors from pre-Revolutionary through the Civil War, history buffs, collectors, and the general public from 18 states and Canada come together for a festive weekend to buy, sell and trade. The event attracts over 270 of the finest craftsman and dealers of living history supplies and related crafts from throughout the United States. The Kalamazoo Living History Show was created in 1976 to bring history alive and entertain as well as expose the general public to some of the most fascinating times in our history. Each year the focus of the show changes allowing various historical reenactment groups, organizations and individuals, dressed in period clothing, the opportunity to host the show and share their knowledge and enthusiasm of history with all of us.

Sutlers pre-registration closes March 1. Sutlers had to be juried back in January. There will be approx. 150-160 sutlers and around 1600 campers. Monies generated by the camping stay at the park for its use. $15-preregistration, $25 at the gate each person. Children under 15-free. $45 sutler registration fee. This is a battle reenactment and a trade fair. This event, among other things, will be a reenactment of a battle between Cherokee warriors and settlers/hunters/militia near the original site of Martin's Station. Aside from the battle on Saturday, there will be skirmishes on Friday and Sunday as well. Also tours of the encampments and the Station, and a guided torchlight tour on Saturday night. There will also be app. 30 sutlers set up next to the Station area. This is a juried event you can contact Wilderness Road State Park (ask for Billy Heck) directly for jurying information.
There are some pictures there of Martin's cabin and station area in various stages of completion, and will attempt to post more as we go along. There are also some shots showing the area in general, which is about 10 miles east of Cumberland Gap, and has an incredible view of the mountains (the park sits almost at the base of the mountain).

The Ethan Allen Colonial Fair will bring together historical societies, places, and crafts to create a family atmosphere and experience. Exhibitions and demonstrations will entertain children of all ages. Period song and dance, musical instruments, games, and farm and home crafts will be presented. The 25th Continental Regiment will be encamped on the grounds for the weekend and will present a two-day battle. Walking and driving tours will be available. The Bennington Monument and Old First Church will be open. The stories of Mathew Lyon, Anthony Haswell, and the Alien and Sedition Acts will be told. The Bennington Museum and the Park McCullough House are also a part of the local story. In addition, Bennington will be in the middle of its annual June Arts Festival. The lives of many civilians on the Carolina frontier were disrupted by the French and Indian War. Join hundreds of soldiers, Native Americans, and civilians as they set up their camps near Fort Dobbs. Visitors can experience a snapshot of life on the edge of the British Empire in the 1750’s. The event will feature a re-created skirmish between Cherokee Indians and colonial militia, scholarly lectures, and on-going demonstrations of 18th century camp life and trades. 10a.m. - 4p.m., Saturday and Sunday. School Day programming is available on October 1st.

The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana. Each year there are more than 8,000 participants.

Colonial trade fair period 1750 thru 1789. This is a juried event and rules and applications can be found on the web site. Schoenbrunn Village is on the actual site of the Delaware Moravian village in use from 1773 to 1777. There are 17 restored cabins on their original sites. Plenty of room for tents, longhunters, natives, military, etc. Be a part of trade fair that is on one of the most historic locations in Ohio.
