We are a small group right now, comprising barely a platoon of men.  However, it is our intent to remain as true as possible to recreating the particular time and place of revolutionary Georgia, and therefore we would rather concentrate our time on research rather than recruiting.  Our small size allows us to be somewhat selective, and to keep our membership pointed in a direction of high quality and veracity in our impressions and interpretations.

Brant's Volunteers (Oquaga) portrays the white Loyalists that joined Joseph Brant in the spring of 1777 when he arrived at the village of Oquaga.   We are a campaign unit. This means we treat our events as if we were a part of a raiding party on the move. We use oilcloth tarps and/or brush shelters instead of tents, eat period foods and practice period skills. We will generally camp with our native allies rather than the Regular/Provincial camp.

The Washington County Regiment is a group of Revolutionary War enthusiasts and 18th century living historians. The Washington County Regiment of  North Carolina Militia is a living history organization, dedicated to education the public about the lives of  the settlers and first peoples on the 18th frontier and to sharing the history of that portion of Western North Carolina which is now Northeast Tennessee. As members of the Washington County Regiment, we are proud to be united with  Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area and the John and Landon Carter Mansion in Elizabethton, TN,  as the host living history organization, and are committed to serving the park and other historic sites in their common missions. We strive to provide a POSITIVE atmosphere for both the public and our members. We delight in being a QUALITY living history unit with historical accuracy, safety, and enjoyment at the top of our priorities list. We hold monthly musters at Forth Watauga within the Sycamore Shoals Historical Area and several events throughout the year.
