I make 100% wool hats from 1700 era to 2001. My hats are for sale. I also do demonstrations and teach classes on hat making and other related felt items. The student leaves with a finished hat when class is over. I also teach hands on pioneer skills to children and adults. To name a few, preparation of wool for spinning and then learn to spin (on a drop spindle and or spinning wheel), flax processing and cotton, rendering lard and it's uses, candle dipping, soap making, pioneer toys, laundry day, preparation and preservation of food (salted and smoked meat, leather britches, butter churning, etc), shaving horse and pioneer tools, dulcimer and ooo-eee can, writing (make your own ink etc.) and black-smithing. Handspun, hand dyed and natural color yarns from Border Leicester and Icelandic sheep. Specialize in old time natural dying of wool with Indigo, Walnuts, and Cochineal. Also fine hand woven or felted blankets. Wool felt boots with sueded soles and beadwork trim. Knitted, fulled mittens all from our own sheep.
